How Participation works
The Global Alliance for Human Rights brings together governments, organizations, institutions, and individuals committed to advancing human rights through collaboration and action.
Initial participation will be open to:
- Member States and subnational governments
- Organizations and institutions across sectors
After making expressions of interest, eligible stakeholders will be required to:
- Endorse the Statement of Commitment
- Agree to follow participation principles
- Make at least one implementable pledge as follows:
Imagine
I imagine a world where …
Describe the human-rights future you are working towards under the Global Alliance’s four strategic pathways.
Dialogue
I engage in dialogue with …
Name the actors, communities or groups you will engage with, ensuring a multisector approach.
Act
I pledge to …
Name specific, time-bound action(s).
Each pledge must be new, specific, and include a time period for delivery.
Pledge(s) can be linked to catalytic initiatives, and pledges can be added or changed over time.
Self-reporting on pledge implementation is expected ahead of the Global Alliance Human Rights Forum in December each year.
